Darlene’s Breaded Steak
Bistec’ Ala Milanesa

Ingredients:

  • 6 thin steaks
  • 12 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 6 slices of ham
  • 1 lime or lemon, juiced
  • 1 Tbsp DARLENE’S SAUTÉED SOFRITO *
  • 1 ½Tbsp DARLENE’S FAMOUS DRY RUB SEASONING
  • 1Cup of EVOO or Canola Oil
  • Salt, pepper, and adobo to taste
  • Parmesan Cheese to taste 

For Breading:
·         ½ Cup Flour
·         2 Tbsp Chives
·         2 Eggs
·         1 Cup Plain Bread Crumbs
·         1 Tbsp DARLENE’S FAMOUS DRY RUB SEASONING

The Breading  and Process:

1.    Heat a pan, caldero, or skillet over medium heat
2.    Add oil
3.    Lower heat if necessary
4.    Beat eggs
5.    Sprinkle with adobo lightly
6.    Add 1Tbsp of chives
7.    To flour add 2 Tsp of DARLENE’S FAMOUS DRY RUB SEASONING  
8.    Season bread crumbs with remaining dry rub seasoning and chives(mix well)
9.    Once  breading is ready season steaks with DARLENE’S FAMOUS DRY RUB SEASONING in a bowl
10.  Add lemon or lime juice
11.  Lightly Smear DARLENE’S FAMOUS DRY RUB SEASONING  mixture over every steak
12.  Follow the next three steps for each steak: (1) Lightly pass through with flour, and Shake off excess  (2) dip in egg, then (3) pass through bread
13.  Fry steaks for 4-5 minutes on each side
14.  Lay on napkins or parchment paper

Once Breaded Steak is Prepared:

1.     Lightly oil baking dish
2.    Lay steaks flat on a baking dish
3.    Place slice of ham on top of each steak
4.    Top with 2 slices of cheese  
5.    Bake at 350 degrees until cheese melts. Completely
6. Sprinkle each one with Parmesan Cheese 


Serve with salad, tostones, white rice, or in enjoy a sandwich topped with lettuce, tomatoes, onions yummy
